Operations Manager

Job Details:

Manage and report on all operations of Green Power EMC power generation assets--owned, leased, and contracts. Provide information and support the financial, accounting, and Member billing activities.  Organize and Manage all public and Member relations activities including Member Annual meetings, special activities.  Manage and direct supporting staff as needed for such activities. Development of new products, services to support Green Power EMC's mission and Member interests and requirements. Represent Green Power EMC at meetings and events. Initiate and manage special projects on an as-needed basis using project management best practices and methodologies. This role will require managing outside resources and staff to complete project tasks, when necessary.

Education: Bachelor's degree in management, engineering, environmental science or technology related field is required.

Experience: Six to ten years of experience in project management, renewable energy development, energy/environmental policy.  Experience with a utility/energy company is preferred. Experience managing projects with a medium to high degree of complexity and scope.  Experience organizing and leading business meetings as well as representing energy companies in corporate environment and executive management is preferred. Knowledge or experience with renewable energy resources, especially solar energy generation, is a preferred.

Equivalent Experience: Candidates with a two year technical degree plus 10 years of directly related experience.

Motivated individual who has very strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 2. Results-oriented style.  3. Good interpersonal skills.  4. Strong technical and business analytical skills.  5. Ability to get results and yet operate with a diplomatic style.  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow associates, representatives of vendors and contractors.  7. Ability to develop instructions from technical manuals and other related materials.  8. Possesses excellent skills in oral and written communication using the English language.  9. Decision making capabilities.  10. Proficient at prioritizing tasks and directing resources accordingly.  11. Ability to learn and apply new technical information to problem solving and the development of new projects and services. 12.  Strong leadership and organizational skills necessary to lead staff, projects, and other outside resources.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Valid driver’s license that meets the insurance eligibility requirements under Oglethorpe Power's Driver Qualification Program.

Salary Range: $97,000 - $121,200 

Percent of travel involved: 25%
