Presented online in a series of four 2½-hour live time modules, this seminar is designed to provide the specific training and background needed by professionals preparing to sit for AEE's Certified Sustainable Development Professional (CSDP®) exam. The course agenda also includes updates on topics of current importance to all individuals involved in all types of sustainable development projects.
You can participate in the seminar from your office, home, or anywhere you have access to the internet and a phone or VOIP. You'll have opportunities to interact with your instructor and colleagues in real time during the five live teleconferencing sessions.
About the Seminar
Become a Certified Sustainable Development Professional (CSDP). Successful sustainable development involves a comprehensive understanding of policy and issues as well as a balanced understanding of technical and financial realities. For the first time all of these elements have been condensed into this intensive online seminar. Here's your opportunity to take part in a focused, fast-paced instructional program, designed both to expand your knowledge in the field, and to serve as a preparatory vehicle for the examination required to achieve AEE's Certified Sustainable Development Professional (CSDP) certification.
Executive Order 13514 / Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance mandated that at least 15% of existing federal buildings and leased facilities meet Energy Efficiency Guiding Principles by 2015, and that annual progress be made toward 100% conformance of all federal buildings. The Order additionaly set the goal that all new federal buildings achieve net-zero- energy status by 2030. This course is also designed to provide the training and tools needed by those involved in the process of meeting the goals set by this Executive Order.
Emphasis is placed on understanding how the many diverse elements of green design, and sustainable technologies and related cost implications, can truly result in a well defined and manageable sustainable development plan. This course is intended for professionals whose roles include supervising and managing sustainable programs, as well as energy and design professionals.

STEPHEN A. ROOSA, Ph.D., is president and CEO of a property development and management company located in Louisville, KY. He has over 25 years experience in commercial energy management and performance contracting. He is considered internationally to be an expert in energy conservation, energy management, renewables and urban sustainability. Past experience includes energy studies and projects for over 3,500 buildings. Dr. Roosa is a Certified Sustainable Development Professional, Certified Energy Manager, a Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional, a Certified Measurement & Verification Professional, a Certified Energy Monitoring and Control System Designer, a Certified Demand Side Management Specialist, a Certified Building Energy Management Professional, and a LEED Accredited Professional. He holds a Ph.D. in Planning and Urban Development an MBA and an undergraduate degree in Architecture. He is a past president of the AEE and has been inducted into the AEE Energy Manager's Hall of Fame.
Course Materials and Advance Preparations
