AEE offers self-paced seminars to provide students the opportunity to participate in continuing education courses, earn CEUs and receive a certificate of completion without traveling or following a course class meeting schedule.
These self-paced home-study courses can be taken any time during the designated term period. Here's how the program works: Each registered student receives a printed book containing all the course material along with the e-mail address of the instructor so that questions can be asked at any time during the term. (Students outside the US are charged an additional shipping fee which is calculated and approved by the student before the registration is processed.) Each student who completes the course questions found in the printed book, returns them for scoring, and makes at least 70 will receive a certificate of completion and 1 CEU. The CEU credit can be used toward recertification.
BUILDING ENERGY MANAGEMENT This course is designed to assist building operators in setting up and implementing ongoing energy management programs. Several areas of energy management are covered, including energy accounting and utility bill analysis, rate schedules, preventive maintenance programs, common problems and solutions, performing building inspections, evaluating conservation options, establishing goals and selling the program to administrators. Participants will learn to assess energy use by tracking and graphing consumption and apportioning energy data to narrow the focus of walk-through inspections and to evaluate the operating condition of the existing equipment. Thus, it becomes easier to identify areas with the greatest savings potential and to prioritize conservation. Today’s energy managers can’t rely on reducing temperatures and turning out lights. They must not only be well versed in all aspects of building operation, but must also effectively communicate conservation strategies in a positive way to administration and board members.
As a participant of this seminar you will learn –
The top energy savers, quick and easy steps that cost you little or nothing, could account for 50% or more of your energy savings The energy conservation measures that work best for businesses and institutions Six steps to energy savings Energy accounting How to reduce operating costs with a preventive maintenance program Energy auditing techniques Common problems and solutions
