Presented online in a series of five live two- hour time modules, this seminar is designed to provide the specific training and background needed by professionals preparing to sit for the Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP®) certification examination. The course agenda also covers the specific methodologies used to measure, verify and document the results of energy projects or ongoing energy efficiency activities.
You can participate in the seminar from your office, home, or anywhere you have access to the internet and a phone or VOIP. You'll have opportunities to interact with your instructor and colleagues in real time during the five live teleconferencing sessions.
About the Seminar
This course earns 1 CEUs, 10 PDHs and 2 AEE Credits toward Re-certification.
Proven energy savings are now playing a significant role in financing energy management programs, whether through energy performance contracts or through emission trades under schemes such as the clean development mechanism of the UNFCCC. While interest in savings data is growing, the state of the art in determining savings has also been rapidly evolving. This seminar will examine current best practices for determining and documenting savings, specifically reviewing the current edition of the International Performance Measurement & Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
Attendees will learn the process of designing a proper M&V program for their projects, including cost/accuracy tradeoffs, baseline adjustments, interactive effects, types of savings, maintaining transparency, and analysis methods. Examples of specific techniques will be presented, along with common pitfalls which can result in unreliable savings reports. These techniques are central to management under the new ISO 50001 standard for Energy Management Systems. Class time will include problem solving and discussion of specific M&V challenges faced by course participants. Persons experienced in M&V will also appreciate the assembly of all of the most critical current issues, and engagement at their own level with expert instructor.

Your Realtime Program Instructor
STEVE KROMER, P.E., is an energy efficiency consultant focusing on energy savings verification (program evaluation and M&V) and energy efficiency data management systems. Mr. Kromer holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He was a senior engineer at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he is currently a guest researcher. He currently consults internationally on M&V implementation and training, and is current chair of the CMVP certification board.
Course Materials and Advance Preparations
The seminar fee covers registration for all five two-hour program modules, seminar workbook (downloadable PDF format), course certificate, and teleconferencing services, including domestic phone charges. (International calls will have non- tollfree access.) Payment in full must be received prior to the start date of the seminar.
You will receive instructions, personal support, and a chance to test your teleconferencing connection in advance of the first session.
Enrollment in this realtime online seminar will be limited to 40 participants to ensure that each student has ample opportunity for interaction with instructors and other participants.
