AN IN-DEPTH PREPARATORY COURSE FOR THE PCF CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION A TWO-DAY SEMINAR
AIA Learning Units Eligible
This course has been approved by AIA for continuing education credits. The AIA requires that its registered architect members earn 18 Learning Unit (LU) hours of continuing education credit annually (eight hours of which must be related to Health, Safety, and Welfare topics and four of those eight in Sustainable Design) to remain in good standing. Architectural boards in 40 states, 10 Canadian Provinces, and 19 countries have implemented mandatory continuing education (MCE) for re-licensure.
The Association of Energy Engineers is an approved training provider within the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education Systems (CES) Registered Provider program.
This two-day live seminar will not be offered again during the current calendar year. However, you may wish to consider hosting an inhouse PCF certification training course at your own location by contacting 770-279-4391.
Seminar participants are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. A block of rooms has been reserved at the hotel where each course will take place. In most cases these rooms are held up to four weeks prior to the seminar date. We therefore recommend that you make your hotel reservations early to assure availability of space, and be sure to reference AEE and the name of this seminar to assure that you receive the appropriate room rate.
ABOUT THE SEMINAR
This focused, fast-paced 2-day instructional program is designed both to expand your knowledge in the performance contracting and energy project financing fields, and to prepare you for the examination required to achieve AEE's Certified Performance Contracting and Funding Professional (PCF) credential.
Did you know that reliable statistics indicate that about 50% of planned energy projects are delayed due to lack of capital and tight budgets? Performance contracting and other smart financing options are often the only viable path to get important, ultimately cost-saving projects implemented. In fact, many new financing options are now available for energy projects. Participating in this program will help you evaluate and determine which financing path may be right for your project -- or if you offer project financing services, how you may better define, refine and structure your services for your clients.
This seminar is a must for ESCO professionals, facility managers and anyone who uses financing and/or performance contracts. The information covered is intended to literally enable you to get more projects done. Attendees will learn about new financing solutions and how to pick the best one for their needs. They will also learn the best practices approach to achieving their goals, and steps to take in order to avoid common pitfalls. For people on both sides of a contract, this information can help you save millions in delays, lost projects or legal expenses.
By applying the knowledge and strategies presented in this seminar, ESCO and utility representatives will be better able to reduce the sales cycle and avoid pitfalls, which can unnecessarily delay projects by months, or even kill a project. Energy consumers participating in the course will be exposed to important new financing options, which will enable them to implement projects, thereby leading to saving more energy and related expenses.
The PCF examination will be administered on the afternoon of day two of the seminar, following morning instruction -- only to those who have qualified in advance to sit for the exam by submitting a completed PCF application.
CERTIFICATION Please Note: In order to qualify to sit for the PCF exam, you must submit your completed PCF application, along with a $300 application fee. For information on obtaining your PCF application form, or for further information on AEE's PCF certification program, visit www.aeecenter.org/certification/PCF.
Basic Skills Required for This Seminar The PCF preparatory training seminar assumes basic problem-solving skills, including quick and accurate use of a hand calculator and ability to set up problem solution expressions and calculations from a written problem statement. Students should know how to perform "Time Value of Money Calculations", such as NPV, IRR, etc.. Those needing a refresher program in these skills may wish to review the free NPV webinar.
