This course has been approved by AIA for continuing education credits. The AIA requires that its registered architect members earn 18 Learning Unit (LU) hours of continuing education credit annually (eight hours of which must be related to Health, Safety, and Welfare topics and four of those eight in Sustainable Design) to remain in good standing. Architectural boards in 40 states, 10 Canadian Provinces, and 19 countries have implemented mandatory continuing education (MCE) for re-licensure.

The Association of Energy Engineers is an approved training provider within the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education Systems (CES) Registered Provider program.

Developing a blueprint for sustainable energy savings provides organizations with the opportunity to maximize energy efficiency, increase profitability through avoided costs, promote social responsibility and create a sustainable optimized work environment, resulting in an overall competitive advantage.

This online workshop is designed specifically for energy managers, plant managers and energy team leaders, as well as for finance directors and operations managers. If you have the responsibility to develop an "Energy Plan" for your organization, wonder where to start, and need to demonstrate the impact of your efforts to your organization's bottom line then this seminar is for you!

You'll have the opportunity during this program to conduct an analysis of your organization's current energy program based on the five basic areas of energy management. This process will lead you to the development of a "performance scorecard," providing a snapshot of your current energy program and a clear picture of ways to improve it. Specifically, you will learn how to lower your overall energy usage, align your energy actions with your organization's overall strategies and goals, and lay the groundwork for continued improvement. In addition you will gain a clear understanding of the positive impact of energy management on the environment.

You will walk away from this workshop with both a template and sample plan to use in formulating your own sustainable energy savings plan. Each participant will be given a workbook containing all the materials and tools discussed during the workshop. As a participant, you will take away from this seminar:

  • A personalized SEP scorecard that will help you determine the current state of your energy management practices
  • The how-to in developing an energy base line for your organization that will help determine the areas for energy efficiency opportunities
  • The development of you organization's carbon footprint based on energy use within your respective facilities
  • Understanding of your senior management's key performance indicators: what are the real indicators that drive the organization's ultimate success?
  • Key savings opportunities based on the 3Ps
  • A prioritization worksheet to help determine the best programs/projects to pursue
  • An avoided cost worksheet that shows the dollar impact of prior and new energy efficiency actions within your organization
  • How to create your organization's energy mandate: the key supporting document of senior management to the overall sustainable energy savings plan

You will leave this workshop with both a blueprint and sample plan to use in formulating your own sustainable energy plan.
