Course
The
Education Provider Program (EPP) facilitates access to high quality
professional development courses to further enrich the knowledge
and understanding of green building theory, techniques, and trends
for building professionals. Each course is reviewed by third-party-trained
reviewers and meets the criteria and guidelines established by the
USGBC Professional Development Committee. This course qualifies
for GBCI's Credential Maintenance Program (CMP) for LEED® professionals.
The
Association of Energy Engineers is a Corporate Member of the U.S.
Green Building Council (USGBC) and an approved EPP.

AIA
Learning Units Eligible

This
course has been approved by AIA for continuing education credits.
The AIA requires that its registered architect members earn 18 Learning
Unit (LU) hours of continuing education credit annually (eight hours
of which must be related to Health, Safety, and Welfare topics and
four of those eight in Sustainable Design) to remain in good standing.
Architectural boards in 40 states, 10 Canadian Provinces, and 19
countries have implemented mandatory continuing education (MCE)
for re-licensure.
The
Association of Energy Engineers is an approved training provider
within the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education
Systems (CES) Registered Provider program.

Presented online
in a series of six live two-hour time modules, this seminar is designed
to provide the specific training and background needed by professionals
preparing to sit for AEE's Certified Residential Energy Auditor (REA) exam.
The course agenda also includes updates on topics of current importance
to all individuals involved in performing residential energy audits.
You
can participate in the seminar from your office, home, or anywhere you
have access to the internet and a phone. You'll have opportunities to
interact with your instructor and colleagues in real time during the six
live teleconferencing sessions.
ABOUT
THE SEMINAR
Become a certified Residential Energy Auditor (REA). Here's
your opportunity to take part in a focused, fast-paced instructional program,
designed both to expand your knowledge in the field, and to serve as a
preparatory vehicle for the examination required to achieve AEE's Residential
Energy Auditor (REA) certification. Completion of this seminar also fills
the training requirement for REA candidates. (Optionally, you may also
consider taking the 3 day Fundamentals
of Residential Energy Auditing live course, offered at several locations
throughout the U.S. each year.)
The online
Certified Energy Auditor Preparatory Training Program covers all
of the basic information included in the live course, but is presented
in a condensed, faster paced format, providing you with the fundamental
knowledge and understanding required to conduct an effective residential
energy audit. The course explores all major aspects of home energy use,
residential energy systems and technologies, energy conservation measures
(ECMs), energy auditing methodology and calculations, and diagnostic and
software tools. Topics include:

envelope assessment
- HVAC energy
conservation measures
- Water
heating system evaluation
- Efficient
home lighting
- Appliances
and Energy Star

About
REA Certification. The requirements to qualify for the certification
process have been designed to take into account the possible diversity
of education and practical experience an individual may have. Each applicant
for REA professional certification must attend one of AEE's approved training
courses (either the online or live seminar program) and complete and pass
a four-hour written exam, as well as meet specific educational and professional
criteria. (Note that the seminar fee does not include the certification
