2 Hours of Instruction: Earns 0.2 CEU / 2 PDH
Now accepting registrations for program beginning June 11, 2010
This two-hour online seminar is designed to address both the need for, and the best strategies for developing effective business plans which result in the realization of potential cost savings identified through energy audits.

You can participate in the seminar from your office, home, or anywhere you have access to the internet and a phone. You'll have opportunities to interact with your instructor and colleagues in real time during the two-hour live teleconferencing session.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR
Energy audits are widely promoted by energy solution providers as well as utility, university, and government programs. Nevertheless, the implementation rate for energy saving programs based on energy audits remains discouragingly low. While the very best programs may achieve 50% implementation, rates in the 20-30% range are more typical. This begs questions about the design, conduct and follow-up of energy audits.

While much has been written about the technical aspects of energy analysis, little has been published about the communication leading up to, during, and following the actual audit experience. In effect, addressing this communication gap points to the need for a business plan that "connects the dots" between energy audit recommendations and the larger business environment to which those recommendations apply. Business plan development must take into account the organizational and resource aspects that complement engineering results-all of which are coordinated to achieve higher implementation rates.

This two-hour program will review the theory, logistics, and format for developing a business plan to enhance the traditional energy audit. Attendees will gain insight about preparation for an energy audit (inbound logistics) as well as strategies and tactics for follow-up (outbound logistics). The goal of this program is that attendees should leave this program will the understanding needed to develop a sound business plan which explains "where we are now," "where we want to go," and "how we want to get there."
