ABOUT
THE SEMINAR
Lighting systems are one of the largest pieces of the building energy pie. Many important new lighting products and strategies have come to market in the past few years that allow facilities to break the lighting power density barrier of 0.5 watts per square foot while providing excellent lighting quality. The full scope of this trend and the technology options available will be explored in-depth in this program presented by two recognized retrofit lighting experts. With the wealth of new lighting technologies and products now being offered to boost energy savings and improve workplaces, there are so many options and so much conflicting information, it is difficult to choose the right ones. This program will help you sort out which new products may be best for your specific applications, as well as guide you through all of the factors that must be considered to achieve the best possible results. The advantages of high performance, high lumen 32W F32T8s over "energy-saving" 25 - 30W F32T8s will be investigated. High lumen T8s and high performance ballasts can often allow retrofitting basic grade T8 systems cost effective. Upscale kits and high performance 1F32T8 troffers and suspended indirect/direct fixtures can help save more energy. This program will show how to get to the next level of energy savings by using spectrally-enhanced lighting. Hordes of sales people are now vigorously pushing LED T8s across the country. These will be compared with high performance fluorescent T8s. You'll learn how and why high performance task-ambient lighting is a very good strategy. Emergency lighting will also be re-evaluated. What are the best sales models for ESCOs, retrofit contractors, distributors and end-customers for various types projects? Should unit pricing and financial returns for each fixture type be provided? Should options be provided? These questions will be examined. Initial
costs and financial returns are so important in any potential project.
Paybacks can be so short sighted. Federal EPACT tax deductions for end-customer
or lighting designer are up to $.60 per square foot. With positive cash
flow financing, projects can often be done with little or no out-of-pocket
money. Learn how your projects may benefit. Sustainable lighting ensures that systems will operate at high efficiency for many years, but not all energy-efficient choices are sustainable solutions. This program will identify the best technologies, products and practices to meet both energy efficiency goals and provide sustainable lighting solutions. The instructors have designed this program specifically with the goal of providing useful information that you can readily apply for immediate results. Case histories, best practices, and how to avoid mistakes will be discussed. Even if you have participated in the Advanced Lighting Retrofit Options online seminar in the past, this new updated version has considerably different and evolved information.
