The most comprehensive and practical reference available on energy auditing in buildings and industry.
Presented online in a series of three live 2 hour time modules, this fully updated seminar covers all the fundamental components of a complete energy audit, including an overview of the latest industry standards and ASHRAE Energy Audit Guideline.

You can participate in the seminar from your office, home, or anywhere you have access to the internet and a phone or VOIP. You'll have opportunities to interact with your instructor and colleagues in real time during the two live, interactive online sessions.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

Many of the products being labeled as "energy audits" are nothing more than a generalized look at a facility or an investigation of a particular system (often for the purpose of selling a particular product or project). A truly effective energy audit needs to examine not only the major energy end use equipment, but the operations, maintenance and management processes of the facility as well. It is one of the first actions which must be taken to accomplish an effective energy cost control program. The audit is a detailed examination of how the facility uses energy, what it pays for that energy, and in conclusion a set of recommendations to reduce the energy costs by both equipment and operational changes.

This course will begin with an overview of the new ASHRAE Energy Audit Standard (an update to the ASHRAE Guideline), which is being referenced in many of the recent energy audit regulations adopted by localities. The instructor will then proceed through the four major stages of the audit process, beginning with the pre-audit work which needs to be done to make best use of the auditor's field time. He will then take you through through all components of the site visit phase of the audit: covering who should be involved, data gathering and forensic detective techniques, and survey/monitoring tools.

From there, analysis of the data and potential savings opportunities will be discussed, covering both energy and economic considerations. The proper application of applicable energy rates will be emphasized, and the software tools available to assist the auditor will be reviewed. Finally and importantly, the contents and organizational issues necessary for the energy audit report to effectively present the information to its various end users will be detailed.

This course is designed to educate not only those professionals conducting audits do so effectively, but to inform end users of what they should expect of an audit, and government/utility/service provider managers of what their auditors should be including/doing in the audits they provide for their clients.
